Operator I - Utility Operator
About The Position
The Gund Company is seeking a full-time Utility Operator I for their 2nd Shift. Since 1951, The Gund Company has been a family-owned manufacturer and fabricator of engineered material solutions, specializing in customized electrical insulation parts with 16+ facilities worldwide. They focus on custom fabricated parts manufactured according to certified quality systems, taking a consultative, engineering approach to customer needs. As a Utility Operator I, the role involves supporting production operations in both the Slitting and Sanding departments, ensuring parts meet work order specifications and customer requirements. This includes operating and setting up various production machinery, performing manual assembly, and adhering to safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience.
- Strong basic math skills and the ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Flexibility to work overtime and adjust to emergency production needs.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with manufacturing machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate production equipment such as Slitting equipment and Sanding equipment.
- Perform manual assembly and fabrication tasks using hand tools and machinery, as necessary.
- Inspect products to ensure they meet company quality, quantity, and customer standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following all safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
