About The Position

St Paul’s Catholic School is a school in Bridgewater, Tasmania, Australia, offering education from Kindergarten to Grade 6. The Utility Officer plays a vital role in ensuring our school grounds, buildings, and facilities are clean, safe, and well maintained. This position requires a hands‑on, proactive individual with trade-level skills who can coordinate maintenance tasks, supervise others, and respond effectively to daily operational needs. The successful applicant will support the Catholic Identity and Evangelising Mission of the school and work collaboratively with staff, contractors, volunteers, and the broader school community.

• Trade Certificate or Certificate III (or relevant experience).

Responsibilities

• Coordinating daily building and grounds maintenance, including cleaning tasks, rubbish removal, and minor repairs.
• Overseeing turf care, playground upkeep, and replenishment of soft fall.
• Planning and undertaking specialised maintenance tasks and small building projects.
• Maintaining tools, equipment, and chemical storage in line with safety standards.
• Setting up furniture and equipment for school events and sporting activities.
• Managing daily security routines, including unlocking/locking buildings.
