About The Position

As a Security Officer Exterior Patrol in Oakland, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a dynamic utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support access awareness through strong customer service and communication. Requirements

A minimum of 2 years of security-related experience is required.
Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a utilities location.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials when required, and communicate with employees, contractors, and visitors regarding site rules and access procedures.
Support emergency preparedness efforts by assisting with evacuations, restricted area control, and/or coordination with site contacts and first responders when needed.
