About The Position

The Utility Mechanic (3rd Shift) position supports the maintenance department by performing multi-trade repairs to steam, water, and mechanical equipment as required. This position is available in our Allentown, PA facility. The anticipated hourly rate for this union position starts at $27.11-$31.57/hr., is commensurate with experience, and has an additional $.60 shift differential.

Requirements

GED or Highschool diploma and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance of laundry equipment are required.
Completion of technical school or approved training in maintenance disciplines, including pipe fitting, steam systems, electrical, plumbing, mechanical repair, and safety requirements required.
Ability to effectively communicate across teams and departments.
Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
Background checks and drug screenings are required for this position.
An offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of these screenings.

Responsibilities

Perform multi-trade repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance on steam, water, and mechanical systems.
Inspect equipment, assess conditions, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Interpret instructions and diagnose issues based on input from supervisors and operators; communicate problems and solutions effectively.
Maintain accurate daily records of work performed.
Identify and report parts or equipment needs to initiate purchase requisitions.
Read and work from blueprints and mechanical drawings with minimal supervision.
Consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
