About The Position

Northstar Energy Solutions is seeking a dependable and safety focused Utility Materials Technician to support fleet and field operations through the accurate receipt, storage, distribution, and transportation of materials, tools, equipment, and parts. This position plays a critical role in ensuring operational teams have the resources needed to safely and effectively complete their work. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a high sense of urgency, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or warehouse systems preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.
  • Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Additional warehouse, logistics, inventory, or material-handling certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, verify, and properly store incoming shipments of materials, tools, equipment, and parts.
  • Pull, stage, and distribute materials for fleet, field, and operational personnel.
  • Perform local deliveries and pickups using company vehicles while adhering to all company driving policies and traffic regulations.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are properly secured during transportation.
  • Verify order accuracy before shipment, delivery, or issuance to field personnel.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving functions, including packaging, labeling, and shipment preparation.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment in accordance with company safety requirements.
  • Support inventory management activities, including cycle counts, material organization, and stock replenishment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard environment.
  • Accurately document material receipts, deliveries, and inventory transactions.
  • Support warehouse operations through housekeeping, organization, and other assigned tasks during periods of downtime.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
