About The Position

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Utility Maintenance. The core hours for this role are 6:00 AM - 2:20 PM with overtime eligibility. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
Minimum 1 year maintenance or industrial facility experience.
Minimum 2 years Fork Lift Experience
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (within 50 miles) of South Bend, IN will be considered for this position.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a custodial or utility position
Knowledge of oil recycling processes.
Ability to work with little supervision
Show initiative to solve problems without direction
Minimum of 4 years experience in heavy industrial setting.
Fundamental knowledge of hand tools, basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics.
Working knowledge of a CMMS (Computerized Maint. Management System) is a plus

Responsibilities

Maintain oil/fluid recycling program.
Utilize the 16000 lb. industrial powered forklift to maneuver around operators to complete tasks, unload trucks, and carry and move various maintenance equipment.
Check wet scale hoppers and dump them into outside containers as needed.
Pump oil from press pits
Perform snow removal on sidewalks and fire door
Paint plant and equipment as required
Maintain graphite tanks
Help perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on presses and other plant equipment
Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, cranes, and hoists; Perform rigging as required
Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping efforts
Train (OJT & Offsite) and continually updates skills to adapt to new machinery, technology and processes
Complete requisitions to facilitate ordering of parts and maintenance supplies as used/needed
Must display professional conduct and have good communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal)
Adhere to all plant safety requirements to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
Supports maintenance team for major repairs, as a team member in resolution of manufacturing problems, troubleshooting and productivity improvement analysis.
Perform other facilities related tasks as required
