About The Position

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Utility Maintenance. The core hours for this role are 6:00 AM - 2:20 PM with overtime eligibility. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum 1 year maintenance or industrial facility experience.
  • Minimum 2 years Fork Lift Experience
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (within 50 miles) of South Bend, IN will be considered for this position.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a custodial or utility position
  • Knowledge of oil recycling processes.
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Show initiative to solve problems without direction
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in heavy industrial setting.
  • Fundamental knowledge of hand tools, basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics.
  • Working knowledge of a CMMS (Computerized Maint. Management System) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain oil/fluid recycling program.
  • Utilize the 16000 lb. industrial powered forklift to maneuver around operators to complete tasks, unload trucks, and carry and move various maintenance equipment.
  • Check wet scale hoppers and dump them into outside containers as needed.
  • Pump oil from press pits
  • Perform snow removal on sidewalks and fire door
  • Paint plant and equipment as required
  • Maintain graphite tanks
  • Help perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on presses and other plant equipment
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, cranes, and hoists; Perform rigging as required
  • Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping efforts
  • Train (OJT & Offsite) and continually updates skills to adapt to new machinery, technology and processes
  • Complete requisitions to facilitate ordering of parts and maintenance supplies as used/needed
  • Must display professional conduct and have good communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal)
  • Adhere to all plant safety requirements to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Supports maintenance team for major repairs, as a team member in resolution of manufacturing problems, troubleshooting and productivity improvement analysis.
  • Perform other facilities related tasks as required
