About The Position

The Utility Machine Relief Operator is responsible for rotating through various positions and must be able to perform all jobs and operate all machines in the department. This is a full-time position with a starting pay of $23.70/hr, with a shift increase for second and third shifts. This position is open to current team members at the facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring from another Tyson facility should contact their local HR Partner. The application process is through the Workday system, and openings are posted for three working days (Tues-Thurs). Bidding disqualifiers include more than four attendance points, an active written warning within the last three months, a written warning with suspension within the last six months, or less than six months in the current position (unless it's a promotional position). Team members will have a five-day trial period in the position. After the trial period, team members must remain in the position, bid on a promotional position, or demote by completing a Status Change Form. If a team member self-demotes, they will be placed on a six-month "freeze" where they cannot bid on other positions. Team members hired into part-time positions are not eligible to bid on promotional positions and/or transfers for six months. Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
  • Willingness to flex/grip with wrists/hands
  • Willingness to walk, bend, and stand
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc.) with use of calculator

Responsibilities

  • Operating machinery
  • Understanding product specifications
  • Documenting machine settings, weights, and other data both on paper and electronically
  • Assembling, disassembling, and cleaning equipment
  • Communicating issues to lead and supervisor
  • Keeping legible and accurate records, including entering data into a computer-based system
  • Performing any other work assigned by a supervisor
  • Complying with all safety, food safety, GMP, and SQF requirements
  • Performing all positions of rotation, if applicable
  • Operating a Power Industrial Truck
  • Using and reading scales and thermometers
  • Performing basic math functions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc.) with the use of a calculator
