About The Position

USIC is hiring a Utility Locator to help prevent damage to underground infrastructure. Working independently in the field with a company-provided vehicle, technicians locate and mark underground telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer utilities. They search designated areas, document and photograph each locate, and provide clear mark-out services for excavators or property owners. USIC provides training and opportunities for advancement; prior locating experience is not required, though experienced locators are encouraged to apply. This is a daytime, full-time position based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The role may require work after holidays, some weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts, including nights and weekends, according to business needs.

Requirements

Be able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Be proficient with technology.
Be available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
Pass a drug screen; this is a safety-sensitive position.
Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
Be able to work in confined spaces, walk, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds.
Be able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
Be able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints.
Communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Previous outdoor experience.
Prior utility locating experience.
