About The Position

The Halter Group, established in 1982, is a growing company in the Utility Line Clearance industry, providing comprehensive services to clients. We are seeking responsible, hardworking, and reliable individuals, experienced or not, to join our team. A clear, valid driver's license is required, and a CDL A or B is mandatory. This role may involve travel, with opportunities in the Valdosta, Athens, and greater Atlanta, GA areas. The Halter Group is committed to staff development and will assist in obtaining a CDL B license for motivated individuals who meet the necessary preparation and performance goals.

Requirements

Valid Driver's License
CDL is required. Assistance provided for obtaining CDL B license.
Bilingual is a plus
Proven experience as a trimmer/climber and bucket operator (often 2+ years).
OSHA, Aerial Rescue, First Aid/CPR training.
Leadership, crew coordination, training, equipment inspection, daily reporting, problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of tree identification, operating hand/power tools, climbing/trimming techniques, and equipment maintenance.
Ability to perform strenuous tasks, lift heavy brush, and work in various weather conditions.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Provide management and leadership to a tree crew while performing assigned jobs.
Communicate with General Foreman daily regarding all aspects of the job.
Perform all skills required of tree trimmers with a safety-first mindset.
Understand and manage the assigned job.
Maintain all equipment inspection paperwork.
Provide inspection and maintenance of equipment.
Complete daily paperwork and reports.
Complete timesheets accurately and on time.
Perform any other assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Ensure completion of all safety videos and First Aid and CPR Training Programs.
Ensure completion of Aerial Rescue Training Program.
Ensure completion of all Trimmer Standards.
Develop climbing skills (typically within 24+ months).
Push/pull brush or wood in excess of 100lbs.
Perform strenuous repetitive work while walking, bending, sitting or climbing.
Utilize and apply daily repetitive personal protective gear.
Identify Job Hazards, conduct Job Briefings, and establish Drop Zones.
Identify tree assignments and initiate drop zones.
Evaluate proper methods (mechanical or manual) for tree assignments.
