About The Position

The Utility/Dishwasher position at FSL is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dishroom and equipment, ensuring a sanitary wash cycle, and supporting the smooth operation of the restaurant. This role involves washing and cleaning tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment, as well as maintaining adequate levels of clean tableware and supplies. The position also requires adherence to safety and sanitation regulations, and a commitment to providing a positive employee experience through growth and learning opportunities in an inclusive work culture.

Requirements

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalence, or be in the process of obtaining one.
  • Dependable, report to work on-time for every scheduled shift (ready to work at beginning - start of shift) and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO) which includes personal and vacation.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a “friendly,” hospitality-oriented, and service-oriented demeanor.
  • Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies; (refer to the Employee Handbook).
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by Cloverwood.
  • May be requested to assist in the evacuation of Residents or perform other procedures to protect the safety of Residents, visitors and team members during emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Wash and clean tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment.
  • Keep the dishroom and equipment clean and organized.
  • Load, run, and unload the dish machine.
  • Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
  • Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
  • Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware.
  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
  • Bag and haul dishroom trash and recycling to dumpster at designated times.
  • Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
  • Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
  • Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Dining Services Management Team.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as with other departments within the facility.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
  • Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals to the Dining Services management team.
  • Attend and participate in annual in-service training programs.
  • Wash pots and dishes, etc., in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as with established policies and procedures.
  • Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times.
  • Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks and follow proper hand washing procedure.
  • Ensure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained.
  • Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to your supervisor immediately.
  • Report all accidents and incidents to your supervisor on the shift in which they occur.
  • Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
  • Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
  • Report missing or illegible labels or MSDSs to your supervisor.
