About The Position

Under direct supervision of the site supervisor, the Utility Cook performs food preparation duties according to planned menus, recipes, and the number of people to be served. The position prepares and cooks meals in large quantities, performs custodial duties as needed, and maintains the kitchen in a clean and sanitary condition. Work follows established policies, practices, and procedures. Related duties may be assigned. The job may occasionally require staying overnight at camp during inclement weather.

Requirements

• Equivalent of completion of the twelfth grade.
• Possess a valid Class C California driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
• Possess California Food Handlers certification.
• Basic knowledge of institutional-quality food preparation, methods, procedures and service, weights and measures, kitchen safety, and sanitation.
• Submit a formal letter of interest, a resume, and three professional letters of recommendation, preferably dated within the past year and signed by their authors.
