About The Position

A Utility Bulk Loader/Bagger is responsible for following the Plant Schedule and ensuring the packaged product meets plant order requirements. 2nd Shift, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Requirements

• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations that include the following: multiplication, addition, and percentages – all of which can be accomplished with the use of a calculator if needed.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be qualified to operate a forklift.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow safety policy manuals, MSHA regulations, SOP’s, SDS, and various production schedules/reports.
• Must have good overall communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Works in all inside and outside areas of the plant and is exposed to heat, cold, inclement weather, grease, oil, crushed and ground limestone spillage and dirty conditions.
• Requires ability to climb stationary ladders and stairs to load bulk trucks and rail cars.
• Requires ability to occasionally climb stationary ladders and stairs up to at least 60’.
• Must be able to repetitively lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to move 50 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to frequently stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and crawl.
• Must be able to work in a dusty environment where temperatures vary from extremely hot to cold, work in humidity and around various chemicals.
• Frequently operates forklift.
• Frequently requires clean up of limestone spillage which includes sweeping and shoveling material.

Responsibilities

• Utility Bulk Loader/Bagger is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Minimum Mandatory Standards and Requirements within his/her sphere of influence. This may or may not include compliance with any air permits, wastewater permits, storm water permits, or other rules as presented to the employee as requirements.
• Inspects trucks and railcars and loads them following the plant instructions.
• Fills out paperwork such as: plant orders, sample tags, lift truck inspection reports, etc.
• Operates, monitors bagging system and keeps bag weights in spec. Bagging systems will consist of manual and supersack filling.
• Warehouses finished product.
• Keeps work area, warehouse and outside of plant in a neat and safe condition using good housekeeping.
• Helps with preventive maintenance and downtime maintenance repairs.
• Employees must learn and observe all applicable company policies and safe practices and perform all duties assigned by supervisor.
• Knowledgeable of the ISO quality system as required to ensure compliance to the ISO 9001 quality standard.
• Follows FSMA guidelines in the daily production of product.
• Sends samples of packaging product to Lab as required.
• Dumps non-conforming product, restocks product, and codes bags as needed.
