About The Position

Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Utility Assistant for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX. The Utility Assistant provides essential support to the operations by performing various tasks including equipment operation and support in the following departments (Rewinding / Press / Extrusion / RSI / Finishing / Lamination and Material Handling (forklift). This role requires flexibility and the ability to perform multiple functions to ensure continuous production flow. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor. This will be 12-hr day shift opening on a 3/2 rotating schedule from 7am-7pm: Sun/Wed/Thurs; Mon/Tues/Fri/Sat. An additional $2.50/hr premium for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium

Requirements

  • Demonstrated stable work history
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency including email
  • Ability to accurately read and use measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must pass pre-employment assessments
  • Drug screening required
  • Background check required

Responsibilities

  • Operates and adjusts various machines during operator breaks to maintain production continuity
  • Prepares and stages materials for equipment operations
  • Ensures proper machine setup
  • Conducts routine safety inspections of equipment and work areas
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of work environment
  • Monitors product quality and performs quality checks
  • Executes rework operations as needed to meet quality standards
