Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• A minimum of two (2) years of successful relevant work experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to accurately communicate facts and write reports, and communicate in an emergency as required for the position.
• Valid FL driver’s license.
• Successful Level II background check, physical and drug screen.
• This position requires a large amount of standing and walking and the frequent use of hands and arms, as well as bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Talking and listening will be a major component.
• Work may involve some interventions with persons served who are in crisis and may become aggressive.
• Working for Arc Broward may include potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, body fluids and tissue.

Responsibilities

• Obtain USDA meals from caterer and verify quantities ordered/delivered.
• Serve meals/snacks in accordance with USDA requirements and safe/sanitary food handling practices.
• Complete all assigned documentation of meal service.
• Execute job duties in a safe and secure manner, supporting risk management initiatives.
• Utilize safety equipment as required and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and security SOPs.
• Practice appropriate emergency medical procedures as applicable.
• Ensure individuals supported are safe and promote their rights regarding health and safety.
• Ensure students are free from abuse and neglect.
• Participate in disaster preparedness and attend all mandatory safety-related staff training.
• Respond immediately to incidents, accidents, health concerns, and emergency conditions calmly and efficiently.
• Ensure classrooms are clean, neat, and organized, and correct all environmental hazards.
• Clean and sanitize assigned materials and areas, including classrooms, refrigerator, microwave, utensils, toys, bathroom, and trash removal.
