About The Position

This is a 2nd shift Utility 2 position at the Kraft Heinz facility in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role involves operating various equipment and performing tasks in different areas of the plant, including on-packs, chill tank, VRT, robot, prepack, and packaging lines. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and flexible operator with a solid understanding of safety and quality regulations, production procedures, and operational systems. This position also has the potential to lead a department in the absence of the regular lead.

  • Understanding of Clean Inspect Lubricate (CIL), Centerline (CL), 5S, basic problem solving and Oscar system execution.
  • Progressing through Step Up Card system.

Responsibilities

  • Completing duties for any job task assigned within the department.
  • Understanding and execution of Clean Inspect Lubricate (CIL), Centerline (CL), 5S, basic problem solving, and Oscar system.
  • Leading by example in problem-solving skills within the process.
  • Escalating production issues and addressing performance gaps to meet targets.
  • Continuously improving technical skill set through the Step Up Card system.
  • Verifying that all employees in the department are functioning together and minimizing mistakes.
  • Coordinating the transition of materials and workflow with surrounding department leads and supervisors.
  • Ensuring IQS documentation is entered accurately and timely.
  • Verifying subordinates accurately follow quality practices.
  • Participating in and attending DDS Meetings.
  • Monitoring run rates to ensure Run to Target goals are met.
  • Executing Operations Systems (OSCAR, DDS, CL, CIL).
  • Assisting the lead in the successful operation within the department by ensuring materials are present, employees are on task, and enforcing break schedules.
  • Assisting the lead in educating and training employees on machinery and job functions within the department.
  • Maintaining team organization and document management.
  • Participating in root cause problem-solving efforts on key chronic losses for the process.
  • Monitoring waste streams and executing reduction goals.
  • Participating in the QRMP yearly audit and assisting in the development of procedures and corrective actions.
  • Performing other duties and/or projects as assigned.
