About The Position

In this role, you will have the opportunity to operate process equipment or machinery to convert raw materials or semi-finished parts into components or finished parts for a final product at the right time and with the required quality. Each day, you will execute the assigned tasks according to agreed workflows and in accordance with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines and reports any non-compliance. You will also showcase your expertise by operating machines in accordance with the operating manual, work schedule, and/or production order instructions.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow all ABB safety policies, safety training and hazard communication information.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, cut resistant gloves, and safety sleeves when required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years Utility 18 Operator/manufacturing experience.
  • Lift and or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently grip with hands, turn, push, and bend, along with occasionally reaching above shoulder level, and pulling.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time and to keep up with the demanding pace of production.
  • Possess the dexterity and hand-eye coordination to utilize various hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete a variety of complex tasks.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work orders, blueprints, inventory tags, and shipping labels.

Responsibilities

  • Operate process equipment or machinery to convert raw materials or semi-finished parts into components or finished parts for a final product at the right time and with the required quality.
  • Execute assigned tasks according to agreed workflows and in accordance with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines.
  • Report any non-compliance.
  • Operate machines in accordance with the operating manual, work schedule, and/or production order instructions.
  • Perform press-line equipment set-up and clearing of die jams.
  • Maintain regular work attendance, including arriving at work on time and remaining at work until the end of the workday schedule.
  • Work daily and weekend overtime, including overtime on short notice.
