Requirements

  • High school, GED, or equivalent education.
  • 2 years of experience working in a utilities/maintenance role in various environments is required.
  • Able to understand and safely use various hand tools and power tools to carry out and complete utility tasks
  • Demonstrated knowledge of utility systems like boilers, chillers, compressors, and HVAC
  • Industrial electrical up to 480VAC
  • Controls & instrumentations
  • PLC/software & hardware experience
  • Pneumatics & Hydraulic experience
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Able to communicate effectively with anyone that they may encounter on the job
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment with team members and strict GMP practices
  • Must be able and willing to participate in a non-call rotation that may include weekends, overtime, and holidays
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force at times and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to work in cold and hot environments

Nice To Haves

  • Trade or vocational school education is preferred
  • Experience working in a food and beverage manufacturing facility is preferred
  • Forklift certified

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain wastewater treatment systems, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to water discharge and environmental standards.
  • Perform routine inspections and tests on wastewater treatment equipment, such as pumps, valves, filters, and chemical dosing systems, to ensure proper functionality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with wastewater treatment processes and equipment, implementing appropriate corrective actions to maintain optimal performance.
  • Coordinate and oversee the disposal of waste materials and by-products generated during food manufacturing processes, adhering to waste management protocols and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of wastewater treatment activities, including data on water quality, flow rates, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance, to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and environmental health and safety, to address wastewater treatment-related concerns and optimize resource utilization.
  • Operate and maintain utilities systems, such as boilers, chillers, compressors, and HVAC units, to ensure an uninterrupted supply of essential services for the manufacturing facility.
  • Conduct regular inspections of utilities equipment, identifying and addressing potential issues or inefficiencies to prevent disruptions to manufacturing operations.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines when handling chemicals and operating equipment, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Handle and manage the use of strong chemicals, including acids, alkalis, and disinfectants, following strict safety protocols and ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal to prevent any hazardous incidents and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in emergency response protocols and spill containment procedures to minimize environmental impacts in case of accidents or system failures.
  • General maintenance and upkeep of HVCA
