About The Position

The Utilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the utilities staff at Mountain Pass to include CHP, Water Treatment, and a chemical tank farm. The Shift Supervisor will direct a crew of 4-15 employees with responsibility for safety, quality, and utility distribution to the site. This individual will be responsible for tracking, troubleshooting and adjustments of process variables.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of chemical, mining, petroleum, or heavy industrial experience required.
• 5 years prior experience leading a team or supervising operators.
• Experience with the following unit ops preferred: Electrical generating or electrolysis equipment such as turbines, generators, rectifiers or electrolyzes. Water treatment equipment such as tanks, filters, pumps, thickeners/clarifiers, and condensers/evaporators. Process control systems such as DCS or PLC systems.
• Experience in process improvements from concept (identification, scoping, and design procurement) to installation.
• Bachelor's Degree in a science, chemical or mechanical engineering preferred, or 10 years of related field experience is required in lieu of degree.
• Valid Driver's License and a good driving record are required in order to drive company vehicles on property.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read and understand PFD's and P&ID's.
• Co-Gen Power plant, Water treatment or Electrolysis experience preferred.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• SAP experience is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a crew of employees with the Utilities Department.
• Responsible for the safety, quality and distribution of utilities to the site.
• Evaluate process trends to track, troubleshoot and adjust process variables.
• Completes any other tasks as needed or as directed by management.
