This position will support the Drug Product Division (DPD) at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Discover Impactful Work: The Utilities Supervisor is responsible for supervising, maintaining, and optimizing all critical utilities that support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This role ensures reliable performance of utility systems as and limited to HVAC, Steam and Condensate, Purified Water, Potable Water, Fire System, Chilled Water, Compressed Air, Electrical System and Environmental Monitoring systems among other to maintain compliance with cGMP, safety standards, and company policies. The Utilities Supervisor leads a team of technicians, coordinates maintenance activities, supports engineering projects, and drives continuous improvement to ensure operational readiness at all times. A Day in the Life: Utilities System Management Own operation, maintenance, and performance of critical utilities: PW, steam/condensate, USP/EP compressed air and gases, boilers/chillers/cooling towers, air compressors/vacuum, HVAC for controlled environments/cleanrooms, environmental controls/energy monitoring, electrical, and fire systems. Ensure uninterrupted utility availability for production, labs, warehouses, and all facility areas. Compliance & Regulatory Readiness Ensure utilities meet cGMP, regulatory, and Thermo Fisher quality standards. Maintain calibration/maintenance records, logbooks/operational parameters, and manage deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and investigations. Support audits and lead utility-related corrective actions. Leadership & Team Oversight Supervise utility/maintenance technicians: scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management. Foster a safety-first, accountable, technically excellent culture aligned with Thermo Fisher values. Ensure team competency with validated, highly regulated systems. Maintenance Planning & Execution Develop and execute preventive/predictive maintenance to maximize reliability. Coordinate planned shutdowns and major activities with Engineering, Facilities, EH&S, Production, Capital, and Quality. Troubleshoot failures and lead root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Projects & Continuous Improvement Partner with Engineering to design, qualify, and implement upgrades/new utility systems. Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, IQ/OQ/PQ, and lifecycle validation. Drive energy efficiency, reliability improvements, enhanced automation/monitoring, and reduced utility usage variances. Data & Performance Monitoring Track KPIs: equipment reliability, energy consumption, maintenance metrics, and alarm trends. Use CMMS (SAP, Maximo, Blue Mountain RAM) for work orders and spare parts control.
