About The Position

Join our team and help launch the first state psychiatric hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth, where innovative caregivers will make a lasting impact on behavioral health in Texas. The Texas Behavioral Health Center is a newly completed state-funded psychiatric hospital opening in Dallas’ Southwestern Medical District that is owned by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and operated by UT Southwestern Medical Center. When fully operational, the 505,000-square-foot facility will house 292 beds – 200 for adult patients and 92 for children and adolescents. As DFW’s first state-funded behavioral health hospital, it is designed to deliver state-of-the-art, patient-centered care in a modern and healing environment. The center provides comprehensive behavioral health treatment and features private patient rooms, abundant access to natural light and nature, and thoughtfully designed spaces that promote recovery. The hospital will also provide training to all behavioral health disciplines. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or related vocational school.
  • No experience required.
  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of controls, air handlers, steam and chilled water air conditioning and pumps is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Building Automation or Energy Management System experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and controls various university utility functions from a central location or call center using building automation energy management software.
  • Dispatches staff to repair alarm conditions.
  • Contacts customers during critical customer alarms.
  • Acts as the campus call center after normal business hours (nights and weekends).
  • Operates the Central Data Acquisition System, which consists of Energy Management Software from multiple Building Automation Systems.
  • Monitors the utility alarms on campus and analyzes alarm conditions to determine course of action.
  • Assists in remote trouble-shooting of equipment failures.
  • Remotely monitors and controls the campus air handlers, exhaust fans, chillers, boilers, pumps, space temperatures, humidity, etc. using the EMS.
  • Monitors critical customer equipment and freezers.
  • Dispatches appropriate shop personnel via radio or pager to respond to alarms that cannot be controlled by CDAS.
  • Assists callers with a variety of customer requests as the campus and University Hospitals call center after normal business hours.
  • Records all alarm events and customer calls into the Customer Request Log for work order assignments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
