About The Position

As a Utilities Project Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and survey teams by administering projects for our energy sector clients from inception to completion. Your work will contribute directly to the smooth execution and successful completion of our projects, ensuring essential services are maintained and integrated effectively.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in utility coordination, construction, land surveying, or a related field, with a strong understanding of utility infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering plans, surveys, and utility maps.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Surveying, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or GIS software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Ohio utility companies, permitting processes, and regulations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research to identify existing underground and overhead utility infrastructure (water, sewer, gas, electric, telecommunications, fiber optics, etc.) for various project sites.
  • Act as the primary liaison between OHM Advisors' project teams and our energy sector clients.
  • Identify potential utility conflicts with proposed designs and facilitate communication and coordination to develop solutions, reroutes, or protection plans (conflict analysis).
  • Assist project managers and engineers with the preparation and submission of utility-related permit applications to relevant agencies and utility owners.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all utility contacts, correspondence, agreements, and conflict resolutions.
  • Coordinate utility located with subcontractors.
  • Track budgets, schedules, and invoices to clients and subcontractors.
  • May involve occasional site visits to verify utility locations or observe ongoing utility work.
  • Potentially assist with basic CAD or GIS tasks related to mapping and representing utility information on project plans.
  • Work closely with civil engineers, transportation engineers, land surveyors, project managers, and other team members to integrate utility considerations into design and construction plans.
