About The Position

Carry out program requirements of any assigned energy and water assistance program, with focus on providing assistance directly to clients and assessing and responding to additional client needs to promote self- sufficiency.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of Computers and software. Including, but not limited to OPUS system, Access, Word, Word Perfect, and Excel.
  • Good communication skills: Ability to interact with local utility companies, the public, other staff and partners in a cooperative manner.
  • General knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of paid experience directly related to the Position Description is required
  • General understanding of the population we serve
  • Current Oregon Driver’s License is required
  • Reliable transportation for getting to work
  • Proof of automobile liability insurance @100,000/300,000 liability limits and maintain such limits if using personal vehicle for ORCCA duties
  • Must be free from illegal drugs, may be subject to suspicion testing.
  • Must be able to pass the Criminal Background Check.
  • Regular attendance is a requirement of the position.
  • Able to drive long distance.
  • Ability to sit in meeting for as long as four hours at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Attend state program/network meetings as requested by supervisor.
  • Be familiar with all energy & water assistance and weatherization programs.
  • Maintain excellent records and client files.
  • Schedule client intake appointments.
  • Conduct energy assistance intake interviews.
  • Perform data entry.
  • Communicate with utility vendors.
  • Ability and experience in working with culturally and ethnically diverse people of all ages, without regard to sex, race, religion, or socioeconomic level.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work on various tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as necessary.
  • Demonstrate ability to problem solve and make independent decisions.
  • Work well with details.
  • Maintain good organizational skills.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Regular attendance is a requirement of the position.
  • Attend staff meetings, center meetings, and/or other workshops/meetings as notified
  • Maintain a positive attitude regarding ORCCA and all its programs
  • Model behaviors that demonstrate an understanding, acceptance and welcoming of diversity
  • Maintain respect and positive communication regarding all children, families and staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and staff information.
  • Maintain open, two-way communication with staff
  • Accept suggestions and guidance from supervisor and other management staff
  • Seek feedback on job performance and evaluate suggestions and guidance to incorporate in performance
  • Commit to further training. Develop an individual training plan using program tools, as appropriate.
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding any needed changes or concerns with work schedule.
  • Adhere to agency procedures as a mandated child abuse reporter
