About The Position

The primary focus of this position will be to provide on-site operations of the utility plant for all facility systems, including Electrical, HVAC, Steam, Water Supply and Treatment, Fire Alarms, and Building Controls (BAS). This individual will be responsible for providing written reports/logs to the Operations Manager to assist in the reliable and efficient operation of the base building and critical environment functions.

Requirements

  • Technical Degree or equivalent
  • Basic to Intermediate English
  • Ability to read HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and architectural blueprints
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and perform basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks
  • Ability to use Windows-based computers
  • Basic knowledge in MAXIMO.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Performs monitoring and operation program during the shift of Electrical, HVAC, and Water systems equipment and systems.
  • Monitoring of WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant) facilities.
  • If necessary, performs general facility repairs and other maintenance tasks.
  • Operates building systems safely and efficiently in accordance with governmental regulatory compliance and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs corrective maintenance, routines, equipment rounds, and service requests as directed.
  • Inspects and generates work orders to repair pumps, fans, valves, and motors ensuring proper operation of equipment and facilities.
  • Follow-up on electrical/mechanical loads for all critical systems.
  • Must interact with the Critical Operations team to coordinate the Critical Area Program. This will include but not be limited to; supporting any maintenance windows and staying up to date with written communications within the Critical Environment Team.
  • Performs all tasks safely and in accordance with established work standards and practices.
  • Performs emergency or preventive maintenance repairs off-hours as directed on nights and weekends as needed.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs tasks at heights, in extreme temperature changes, lifting, moving, and/or carrying up to 70 pounds.
  • Provide on-call support as required.
  • Perform routine inspections of the Utility system and address any items needing maintenance.
  • Obtain/monitor operational set points, control points, and daily events related to the Utility system.
  • Possess general knowledge of maintenance and ability to properly repair/maintain all equipment and facilities in general.
  • Work with the Supervisor and planner to determine root causes of damage/maintenance and recommend changes to procedures/training.
  • Promote safe work habits and a safe work environment that promotes zero accident rates.
  • Work with the Supervisor to create and maintain a library of blueprints, operation manuals, proper operating procedures, and other data for accurate information.
