About The Position

We are working with an established food production company based in Frederick, MD. They are recruiting for a Utilities Mechanic to join their team during their 1st or 3rd shifts in return for a salary in the region of $35 - $45 /hour along with excellent employment benefits which include 401K, Healthcare, Vision and Dental, PTO and Life Assurance.

Requirements

Holds an Ammonia Operator and willing to obtain a Boiler Operator certification (Grade 5).
Able to handle and instructions on ammonia refrigerant system.
Able to safely replace mechanical and electrical components including motors, motor starters, switches, solenoids, pumps, refrigeration valves, compressors, and auxiliary refrigeration equipment.
Able to read and interpret schematics and drawings to troubleshoot electrical issues.
Self-motivation with a strong drive for results; must be able to deliver objectives with only minimal supervision.
Proven leadership ability; must serve as a role model in the areas of safety, quality, workplace conduct, attendance, etc.
Effective verbal and written skills.
Computer proficiency is required in Outlook, Microsoft office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
All applicants must live in the USA and be eligible to work and live in the USA.
Proficient in Refrigeration Systems
Proficient in Ammonia Refrigeration Systems

Nice To Haves

Experience in SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

Service and repair air compressors, boilers, HVAC, water systems, softeners, and power utility equipment
Operate and maintain industrial refrigeration systems (Ammonia & CO₂)
Conduct daily rounds, monitor temperatures and humidity, and make minor adjustments
Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on refrigeration, compressors, pumps, fans, heat exchangers, glycol systems, motors, and power distribution systems
Participate in process improvements, system enhancements, and work prioritization to minimize downtime
Monitor boilers and air compressors; perform or schedule maintenance as needed
Conduct water treatment testing and boiler efficiency checks
Perform additional duties as assigned
