About The Position

BDI Marine Contractors is a growing, family-owned construction company specializing in marine and site work, including docks, seawalls, and underground utilities. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a Utilities Foreman to lead crews in the field and help keep projects running safely and efficiently. The Utilities Foreman is responsible for overseeing the installation of underground utilities including water, sewer, and storm systems. This is a hands-on leadership role—working alongside the crew while managing daily operations, safety, and production.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in underground utilities (water/sewer/storm)
• Ability to read construction drawings and understand elevations/grades
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Knowledge of trench safety and OSHA regulations
• Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• Previous foreman or crew lead experience
• Experience with pipe installation, tie-ins, and testing
• Operating heavy equipment (excavator, loader, etc.)
• Working in wet or marine environments

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise utility crews in the field
• Install water, sewer, and storm drainage systems
• Read and interpret plans, specs, and grades
• Coordinate with Superintendents, operators, and subcontractors
• Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to spec
• Maintain daily reports and track production
• Identify and troubleshoot issues in the field
• Ensure proper use of equipment and materials
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards
