About The Position

The Utilities Clerk - 079 Houston-Westheimer position is part of the Fiesta Mart Store Operations Team. This role is responsible for assisting in the proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department, and assisting customers on the store floor as needed. The Utilities Clerk will bag groceries for customers, carry out groceries if requested, and ensure the store is clean and safe at all times. Responsibilities include maintaining and retrieving store carts, running price checks, assisting with go-backs, assisting with check stand upkeep, and removing waste from the parking area. The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling, as well as visual and auditory requirements.

Requirements

Ability to read and write Spanish/English.
Ability to interact with general public and co-workers.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
