The Utah Pollinator Program Manager is a full-time, exempt position housed in the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food’s Conservation Division. The role manages a statewide program focused on establishing pollinator habitat and increasing native pollinator populations in rural and urban areas. The manager promotes the program and educates agricultural producers, homeowners, partners, and the public through outreach and presentations. The position also oversees the development and continuation of a competitive grant program, which may provide native plants or seed-cost sharing for agricultural producers implementing large-scale pollinator projects. The manager tracks and reports on implemented projects and works with the Pollinator Steering Committee to guide program strategy. The office is located at the department’s building in Taylorsville, Utah. The role includes managing the TSOB Pollinator Demonstration Garden, a 7,500-square-foot meadow-scape of native plants at the Taylorsville office complex. Duties include seasonal garden maintenance, volunteer coordination, and supporting seed collection, planting demonstrations, and educational outreach. The manager may also source and solicit seeds for program development. Work is generally scheduled Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with evening and weekend meetings and occasional overnight trips required. The role may involve driving a personal vehicle for business, with mileage compensation.
