About The Position

In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, this role is responsible for calibrating, installing, and troubleshooting instrument systems. The mechanic must possess a thorough knowledge of all electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instruments used in the plant. This position requires the ability to work independently, using initiative to determine maintenance needs and possessing knowledge of special techniques for repairs. The role also involves instructing Instrument Mechanic 2nd Class and collaborating with Development Inspection Engineers. Training will be provided in instruments and procedures specific to a gaseous diffusion operation.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of all electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instruments used in plant
  • Knowledge of special techniques required for any type of repairs
  • Good physical condition
  • Ability to work in excessively hot areas and awkward positions
  • Ability to perform considerable walking and climbing
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting
  • Good color vision
  • Knowledge in chemistry or physics and mathematics
  • Ability to wear company-provided respiratory and other personal protective equipment when required
