About The Position

The Ascendancy Group is seeking experienced professionals to support the USSOCOM Directorate of Operations (J3), J3-International (J3-I) Division, in advancing collaboration, interoperability, and strategic engagement across the global Special Operations community. J3-I strengthens alliances, enhances multinational readiness, and supports USSOCOM’s network of Special Operations Liaison Officers while integrating insights from Allied and Partner Nation SOF into enterprise planning. This effort directly contributes to the development of an international SOF Common Operating Picture and enables partners to deter in competition, respond in crisis, and prevail in conflict. Team members will play a key role in supporting international engagement programs, managing strategic relationships, and ensuring world-class support to international SOF representatives assigned to USSOCOM.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility
  • Former Senior (O5 or above) Army Special Forces officer with 15 years combined experience in operations and Partner Nation development at O6-command, TSOC, or NATO SOF HQ level.
  • Master’s degree in international relations or related field
  • Graduate of School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) or equivalent military planning course.
  • 1-year recent (last 5 years) combat/operational experience as part of combine joint special operations task force or TSOC staff
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with coalition SOF partners
  • Joint Professional Military Education Level II or equivalent graduate

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all contract activities, providing day-to-day leadership, coordination, and oversight for J3-I support tasks.
  • Manage project operations including work planning, scheduling, task assignments, contractor travel, and surge support requirements.
  • Oversee quality assurance for all work products, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with J3-I mission objectives and USSOCOM priorities.
  • Maintain continuous coordination with the J3-I government lead, COR, and designated technical representatives to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide senior-level international SOF expertise across all elements of J3-I, offering informed advice, insights, and operational experience.
  • Support J3-I leadership in managing the overall program of work and aligning efforts with Commander USSOCOM strategic objectives.
  • Participate in and help facilitate J3-I strategic planning initiatives to strengthen alignment across the global SOF enterprise.
  • Assist functional SMEs in maintaining global situational awareness and integrating Partner Nation SOF capabilities into plans, operations, crisis response, and readiness activities.
  • Develop meaningful measures of performance and measures of success to evaluate and enhance J3-I mission execution.
  • When required, mentor Allied and Partner Nation SOF officers and senior NCOs on USSOCOM structure, components, culture, and operational frameworks.
  • Perform security-related close-out and escort duties in accordance with J3-I Division protocols.
