Ushers are members of the Guest Experience staff, who are the welcoming faces of Lincoln Center. They greet and assist guests at events and performances in David Geffen Hall and Alice Tully Hall. In addition to greeting, handing out programs, assisting guests with seating and general wayfinding, they attend to guest needs in the halls and other performance areas. It is important they always model Lincoln Center’s three Guest Experience Principles: Inclusive, Engaged and Distinct. The role of Usher is a part-time, on-call position, based on the events scheduled in the halls. Ushers are generally scheduled for 4-hour shifts at a time, and hours can vary weekly and will include daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Ushers are paid $83.90 per call. The position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (“CBA”) between Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., and Local 306 IATSE. Employees are required to join the union. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to Lincoln Center’s policies and the CBA.
