This position will report to Mission Assurance Performance Improvement & Excellence, the organization that drives Product Realization performance and fosters NSE unity. The optimal candidate will create, apply, and mature Total User Experience (TX) while embedding Organizational Change Management capabilities across KCNSC and the NSE. They will support MOS Design, Execution, and Maturity for internal functional customers by leveraging standard methodologies, to help sustain process improvements and implementation efforts. In addition, the candidate will support external initiatives and best practice adoption through benchmarking and collaboration. Lead the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of the Total User Experience methodology across KCNSC & the NSE. Application and maturation of Change Management (CM) capability across KCNSC and the NSE, supporting internal and external cultural & change management initiatives Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement , leveraging LSS/Total User Experience (TX) principles Cultural Transition – Supporting internal and external cultural initiatives, by leveraging the KCNSC Learning Strategy Committee Support enhancement and tailored functional applications of the KCNSC Management Operating System , currently focusing on design, execution and maturity resulting in enhanced execution performance Benchmarking & Collaboration - Supporting external initiatives and best practice adoption through the NNSA Initiatives & NSE Working Groups This role is located in Kansas City, MO.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Scientific, or Business related field
  • 7 or more years of experience in managing projects and/or programs in Engineering, Manufacturing or related activities
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

Responsibilities

  • Integrates customer needs with business competencies to drive accelerated performance improvement
  • Work with Team members to integrate change management and communication activities into the overall project plan to secure effective and lasting adoption.
  • Coordinate with end-to-end project cross-divisional team, sponsors, end users/customers and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project and understand the needs of customers.
  • Lead organizational change management and communication activities related to all aspects of systems and process deployment
  • Responsible for processes, and systems associated with the Total User Experience (TX) and Change Management (CM) MOS design, execution, and maturity
  • Fosters effective working relationships and systems across business segments to ensure business-wide focus, consistency, and accountability
  • Manages relationships with functional counterparts in industry and the parent corporation to leverage contemporary Lean / Six Sigma / Change Management / Total User Experience (TX) and related systems, processes, and tools
  • Executes strategic and tactical Lean / Six Sigma improvement activities across the business enterprise
  • Completes gap analysis assessments; drives appropriate industry best practices throughout the business
  • Enables the appropriate development of technical and non-technical staff in continuous improvement processes and tools, including all Lean / Six Sigma methodologies and philosophies.
  • Assures individual project accomplishments and overall work unit effectiveness are achieved relative to committed objectives.
  • Provides leadership for staff development and holds them accountable to meet personal and business objectives.
  • May lead KCNSC or NSE-wide programs and activities to standardize and execute best business processes
  • May own, develop, and provide leadership for execution of business training and development across the organization and, potentially, across elements of the NSE
  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment.
