About The Position

Dimmitt Chevrolet is seeking a skilled and experienced Used Car Service Technician to join our team in Clearwater, Florida. This is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry, offering a competitive compensation of $22 per hour, based on experience. As an individual contributor, the Used Car Service Technician will be responsible for performing various maintenance and repair tasks on pre-owned vehicles to ensure their safety and proper functioning.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a service technician in the auto industry
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
Ability to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working with pre-owned vehicles preferred

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire rotations, and battery replacements on pre-owned vehicles
Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues on used cars and provide repair recommendations
Conduct thorough and accurate vehicle inspections to identify potential safety hazards
Complete necessary repairs and document all work performed in a timely manner
Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functionality post-repair
Communicate effectively with service advisors and other team members to provide updates on repair progress and vehicle status
Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols
