About The Position

Ruge's Auto Group, a family-run auto group in the Hudson Valley, is seeking a Used Car Reconditioning Technician for their Rhinebeck Ford, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and Subaru stores. This role involves working on all makes and models with a consistent volume of pre-owned vehicles to prepare them for sale. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy variety and a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a dealership, independent shop, or recon shop.
• Experience working on all makes and models.
• Possession of own tools.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• NYS Certified Motor Vehicle Inspector.
• ASE certifications (company will pay for ASE tests).
• Used car recon experience.

Responsibilities

• Recondition pre-owned vehicles and prepare them for sale.
• Perform New York State safety and emissions inspections.
• Inspect vehicles, and diagnose and repair brakes, tires, suspension, fluids, and other reconditioning items.
• Collaborate with the used car and service teams to ensure efficient vehicle turnover.
• Document work clearly on repair orders.
