About The Position

Tactica Solutions is seeking an USAF Education Center Advisor to execute CCAF program administrative support tasks in accordance with Air Force Instructions, Air University (AU) policies, and local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The role involves providing guidance to students for CCAF degree progression and completion, advising on degree requirements, academic progress, and graduation planning. The advisor will evaluate CCAF student degree plans, assist with registration and credit transfer, and coordinate with program managers for Student Action Requests (SARs). Responsibilities include updating students on CCAF remarks, counseling on GEM, AU-ABC, DANTES, and degree planning strategies, and utilizing AU student portals to evaluate degree audits. The position also requires preparing correspondence, maintaining records and logs, tracking graduation statistics, and assisting with completion reports. Additionally, the advisor will update CCAF program publicity materials, compile survey responses, maintain a graduation database, and coordinate with the Air Force Association for the annual CCAF graduation ceremony. This includes providing timeline updates, supporting ceremony execution, preparing thank-you letters, and ensuring diploma distribution. The advisor will also assist students with applicable forms/applications, use AFAEMS for student records, and update various communication platforms like newsletters, SharePoint, and Facebook with program changes.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Must have at least 15-30 semester hours or quarter-hour equivalent in academic counseling, secondary education or a related discipline.
  • Must have relevant professional work or volunteer experience of at least one three (3) years.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic user knowledge with WINDOWS, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access.
  • Knowledge of social media applications (i.e., Facebook).
  • Knowledge of and experience with United States Air Force terminology and standardized educational and military voluntary education programs.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the CCAF Advisor Certification and participate in ongoing field trainings.
  • Update Education Center staff on program and CCAF catalog changes.
  • Provide guidance to students on CCAF degree progression and completion, considering force development requirements and individual situations.
  • Advise students on degree requirements, academic progress, and graduation planning.
  • Evaluate and interpret CCAF student degree plans (FIORI audit).
  • Assist students with CCAF registration and application of military and civilian college credits.
  • Coordinate with AU and CCAF program managers to submit Student Action Requests (SARs) and ensure completion.
  • Update students on changes and/or CCAF remarks.
  • Counsel students on GEM, AU-ABC, DANTES and provide guidance on CCAF and other degree planning strategies and credit transfer evaluations.
  • Utilize AU student Portal and Advisor tools to evaluate student degree audits for CCAF graduation eligibility.
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary correspondence, forms, related records and logs required to support job tasks.
  • Maintain statistical data for CCAF graduation tracking and assist with CCAF completion reports.
  • Update and produce publicity materials for CCAF programs.
  • Collect and compile survey responses.
  • File and maintain a historical CCAF graduation database.
  • Coordinate with local Air Force Association Chapter 334 to assist in preparation for the annual CCAF graduation ceremony.
  • Provide Force Development Flight (FSD) Chief, and Education and Training Section Deputy Chief (E&TS Deputy Chief), with detailed milestone timeline of graduation-related activities.
  • Support execution of commencement day activities in coordination with the FSD Chief and E&TS Deputy Chief.
  • Provide periodic updates up to the day of the ceremony.
  • Prepare thank-you letters to all who assisted in the ceremony.
  • Ensure all CCAF diplomas are routed to the graduate’s First Sergeant or equivalent.
  • Assist students with completion of applicable forms/applications.
  • Use AFAEMS to maintain individual student records.
  • Update Education Center handouts, Newsletter, SharePoint site, and Facebook page as new requirements or program changes are identified.
