About The Position

The Boeing Company's Defense, Space & Security organization is seeking a USAF E-7A Mission Systems Radar and Electronic Warfare Self-Protection (EWSP) Engineer (Experienced or Lead) to join the Mission Systems team in Tukwila, WA. This role specifically supports the EWSP capability on the E-7 aircraft, contributing to the design, development, procurement, and integration of the full Mission Systems capability. The position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 3+ years related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years experience in avionics, communication equipment or other electronics systems integration or development.
  • 3+ years experience working across cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions.
  • 3+ years experience with developing, managing and working with complex system requirements.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working as an avionics or electronics equipment manager or working with the FAA to qualify equipment.
  • Hardware qualification or laboratory test experience.
  • Experience working with the United States Department of Defense (DOD) or foreign armed services as a customer.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subsystem Equipment Manager for part of the aircraft mission system, including responsibility for procurement and integration activities.
  • Plan and execute testing and validation to ensure that system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Manage supplier technical relationships with both external (commercial and government) and internal suppliers.
  • Solve problems that emerge during test and production of the aircraft.
  • Provide onsite support to integration activities in labs and at aircraft modification sites in the Continental US and overseas.
  • Support system development for the next generation of Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft.
