About The Position

The attorney will build and execute global patent strategies; advise teams across research, development, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, commercial and business development; and support transactions and disputes. The role will also help develop an agentic IP team, where attorneys and IP professionals work alongside AI agents that perform defined, multi-step workflows under appropriate human direction and review. The attorney will help identify and pilot bounded agent-assisted workflows, maintain accountable legal oversight, and work with colleagues to turn successful pilots into repeatable practices. This position is remote. For applicants in the United States, the annual base salary hiring range is $252,000 to $346,500. The position is eligible for short-term and long-term incentive programs and includes a comprehensive benefits package, including retirement savings plans and health benefits.

  • Strong legal and business judgment.
  • Ability to explain complex issues clearly, make practical recommendations and collaborate effectively across scientific, commercial and legal teams.

  • Build and manage global patent portfolios and oversee patent preparation, filing and prosecution in the United States, Europe and other key jurisdictions.
  • Serve as a strategic IP partner to global project teams responsible for drug candidates across the company’s portfolio.
  • Translate complex scientific and patent issues into clear recommendations supporting product development, commercialization and portfolio value.
  • Work with scientists to identify and protect inventions, assess inventorship, manage public disclosures and strengthen trade secret protection.
  • Conduct infringement, validity, freedom-to-operate and competitive landscape analyses, identifying actionable risks and opportunities.
  • Lead patent-related diligence and support licensing, collaborations, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions.
  • Review, draft and negotiate IP provisions and agreements, including confidentiality, technology transfer and licensing arrangements.
  • Strengthen litigation readiness and lead or support patent disputes with internal colleagues and external counsel; connect prosecution, records and enforcement strategy.
