US Country Manager

RyzonSan Francisco, CA
Remote

About The Position

This is a ground-floor role to build Ryzon's US community and business from scratch and own it. The position offers high autonomy and a direct line to the founders and HQ team in Germany. You will have the credibility and product quality of an established European brand behind you. Competitive compensation is offered, with a structure that can be tailored to a full-time or part-time start. The role is flexible and can be worked from anywhere, with no fixed office.

Requirements

  • Deeply connected to the cycling and/or triathlon scene. You already know people, and people already know you. You ride, you race, or you're embedded in the culture.
  • A natural connector. You light up a room (or a group ride). You build trust fast and make people feel part of something.
  • Hands-on and unfussy. You're as comfortable selling jerseys out of a tent in the rain as you are pitching a partnership over coffee. No task is beneath you in a launch phase.
  • Self-directed. You can own your calendar, your region, and your goals without daily supervision.
  • A strong founder mindset. You treat the business as your own and operate with high agency and ownership.
  • Commercially minded. You understand that community and sales aren't opposites: done right, one drives the other.
  • A close partner to HQ, comfortable working solo. For a while, you'll likely be the only person on the ground in the US, so you thrive working independently and take real ownership of your region. At the same time, you keep a close, open line to the team in Germany: you share what you're seeing and align on direction, so the US and HQ move as one team.
  • Authorized to work in the US (this is a local, US-based employment)
  • A valid US driver's license and willingness to travel regularly across your region and to key events, including some evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a cycling, triathlon, run, or endurance/outdoor brand, in community, retail, events, or ambassador management
  • A track record of building or leading a local riding/run community
  • Experience running event activations or managing pop-up retail
  • Experience owning operational or commercial responsibility in a small or early-stage setup
  • Comfort with social content (you'll often be the one capturing the moment)

Responsibilities

  • Build and grow community (your core focus)
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop a network of Ryzon ambassadors: set clear expectations, train them on brand and product, and support them so every ride, event, and appearance meets Ryzon's standard
  • Build genuine relationships with local cycling and triathlon clubs, cafés, shops, creators, and the broader endurance scene, and bring Ryzon in as a sponsor and partner through those communities
  • Plan and host regular group rides, runs, and community moments that people actually want to come back to
  • Be a consistent, recognizable presence in the West Coast cycling and triathlon community
  • Own our presence at events
  • Represent Ryzon on the ground at races, expos, and pop-ups (think Sea Otter, gravel series, local race weekends), together with the German team and the local team we will build together
  • Run our booth and event activations end-to-end: setup, staffing, atmosphere, breakdown
  • Sell product directly to athletes at events and pop-ups, and make it feel like part of the experience, not a transaction
  • Act as the first local point of contact for US topics: partners, retailers, event organizers, riders, and service providers
  • Take ownership of local operational decisions, in close collaboration with HQ
  • Help build the operational backbone of the US business as it scales
  • Over time, scout locations for and help build out a physical Ryzon store in the US
  • Feed insights back to Germany: what US athletes want, how product fits, and what the scene is talking about

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, with structure to be tailored to a full-time or part-time start
  • Flexible, work-anywhere setup, no fixed office
