About The Position

The US Expansion Construction team is responsible for the design and construction efforts for high-tech, large-scale projects for Micron in the US. Current projects include two high-volume manufacturing facilities in Boise, Idaho ID1 and ID2, and a greenfield manufacturing facility in Clay, New York. As the NY Commissioning Program Lead in the US Expansion Strategic Programs team at Micron, you will work with the NY Sr. Commissioning Manager. You will lead all aspects of a technical team responsible for the commissioning process of all facility systems for the assigned project. Your role includes ensuring operational readiness and driving successful project handover to operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and experience within the semiconductor or advanced manufacturing industry. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, a related technical rigor, or equivalent technical experience.
• Eight or more years of commissioning experience within semiconductor, pharmaceutical, high-tech manufacturing, or a comparable industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading commissioning teams or programs for large-scale capital construction projects.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software, Microsoft applications, Autodesk products such as Revit, and cloud-based commissioning platforms.
• Knowledge of applicable industry and regulatory standards, including SEMI, ISO, OSHA, and EPA requirements, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, a related technical rigor, or equivalent advanced technical experience.
• Fifteen or more years of experience commissioning semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
• Advanced knowledge of cleanroom protocols, process equipment, facility utilities, system startup, testing, turnover, and operational-readiness requirements within semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience applying AI-enabled tools to improve commissioning accuracy, automate reporting, identify trends, and increase process efficiency.
• Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the commissioning team, including establishing procedures, role qualifications, performance goals, training requirements, succession plans, and a collaborative team environment.
• Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, standards, schedules, and system-turnover requirements for facility systems supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations.
• Direct Micron commissioning team members and third-party commissioning agencies while coordinating with construction project managers, contractors, program leaders, and operations customers.
• Monitor commissioning progress, program risks, key performance indicators, safety, quality, cost, and schedule; communicate status and establish clear customer concern paths for issue resolution.
• Ensure commissioned systems align with approved designs, applicable codes, authority having jurisdiction requirements, Micron policies, environmental health and safety standards, quality requirements, change-management practices, and document-control expectations.
