About The Position

At Life Scientific, we reverse-engineer the world’s best crop protection products so farmers can access high-quality, science-backed solutions that don’t cost the earth. As we grow across the United States, we’re strengthening our agronomy team and building out how we manage our US product portfolio. We’re looking for an Agronomist with a commercial mindset — someone who loves real-world problem solving, good field conversations, and turning solid data into practical recommendations, but who is equally comfortable shaping how our products launch, perform, and compete in market. Covering major US row crops today and additional specialty crops in the future, you’ll blend hands-on fieldwork and portfolio management, helping ensure our products perform brilliantly for growers while feeding field and market insights into global strategy.

Requirements

Degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Crop Science, or a related field, with a master’s degree considered an advantage.
10+ years of agronomy or crop protection experience in the United States, including exposure to product or portfolio decisions.
Strong understanding of major US row crop production systems, integrated pest management, and sustainable farming practices.
Proven experience designing and managing field trials, analysing data, and turning findings into clear recommendations.
Excellent communication skills with a knack for clarity and human connection.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating effectively across teams and time zones.
Willingness to travel within the United States.
Commercial mindset, with the ability to translate technical and agronomic insight into product positioning and portfolio decisions.
Experience or strong interest in product management, marketing, or portfolio strategy within crop protection or agriculture.
Curious and open to leveraging AI tools to drive smarter ways of working.

Responsibilities

Enable the commercial performance of Life Scientific’s US product portfolio across herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides by bringing agronomic expertise and a commercial mindset.
Deeply understand regional agronomic challenges, pest shifts, climatic pressures, and emerging opportunities that should inform business strategy.
Collaborate with R&D, regulatory, commercial, and marketing teams to ensure US agronomic needs inform product development, portfolio decisions, and market strategy.
Lead ‘where-to-play’ analysis, identifying and prioritising the crops, geographies, and segments where Life Scientific should invest, partnering with the broader Commercial Intelligence Group on this analysis.
Lead how-to-win positioning for the US market — bringing US agronomic insight into product positioning, tracking competitors' products, pricing, and moves, and clarifying what gives Life Scientific its edge and how we protect and grow it.
Shape our 3rd-party and broader partnership strategy — deciding which other crop protection companies or technology providers we partner with, license from, or compete against.
Design, run, and manage field trials in collaboration with 3rd party CROs / University research partners.
Gather and interpret data to evaluate efficacy, positioning, and product fit in real-world environments.
Translate trial findings into clear, practical, grower-friendly recommendations.
Develop technical documentation such as bulletins, trial summaries, presentations, and training materials for internal and external audiences.
Provide regional agronomic expertise for registration processes and regulatory data submissions in the US.
Feed field insights, grower feedback, and market observations into Life Scientific's commercial intelligence platform, partnering with the Commercial Intelligence Group to support regional and global decision-making.
Provide practical, accessible guidance to growers, distributors, and technical advisors on the best use of our current and future products.
Manage and help resolve product performance issues or claims raised by growers and distributors, coordinating with regulatory, quality, R&D and commercial teams as needed.
Build trusted relationships by offering grounded, real answers rather than jargon.
Lead portfolio optimisation initiatives, using competitive and field performance data to recommend formulation, label, positioning, or pricing changes.
Prepare and deliver launch data packs and go-to-market plans for new and existing products, translating agronomic and trial data into commercial narratives.
Identify and help develop value-added agronomic services that strengthen our product portfolio and create further demand among distributors and growers.
Build and lead relationships with land-grant universities, agronomy groups, trial cooperators, and other key influencers, using these partnerships to create demand and awareness for our products in the market.
Deliver field demonstrations, training sessions, and trial walk-throughs that turn science into something useful, human, and relatable.
Provide sales and marketing teams with technical content and support for customer meetings, campaigns, launches and other commercial activities.
Stay current with new agronomy trends, technologies, and innovations across the US, contributing ideas for new trials, product uses, or improved agronomic fit in US row crop systems.
Share learnings and best practices across regions and teams, supporting a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement.
