About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for Urology services across three facilities in Pennsylvania: New Castle, Hermitage, and Farrell. The provider will cover surgery, clinic, and call in New Castle, and clinic and call in Hermitage and Farrell. The provider will only work at one location per day. The clinic sees an average of 20-25 patients per day, with an average call volume of 0-4 calls per night. Inpatient APP coverage is provided Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The position is for 24-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, with an average of 5 shifts per month. The patient population is adult. The EMR systems used are EPIC and Cerner. Credentialing takes approximately 90 days.

Requirements

Active Pennsylvania licensure
Board certification
AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 3-years Urology experience or equivalent
Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
Board certification in Urology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA
Active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania

Nice To Haves

Fellowship training in Urology (may be preferred depending on the position)
While specific requirements may vary, most locum physician positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive medical care to patients across a variety of clinical settings, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
Conduct thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments
Order, interpret, and review diagnostic testing including laboratory work, imaging, and other studies as appropriate
Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices
Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice
Manage ongoing patient care, including follow-up evaluations and coordination of treatment plans
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care
Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical findings accurately and in compliance with facility standards
Respond to patient concerns and provide education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care
Maintain compliance with facility policies, credentialing requirements, and applicable regulatory standards
Adapt quickly to new clinical environments, workflows, and electronic medical record systems
Stay current on medical advancements, clinical guidelines, and best practices through continuing medical education and professional development
