About The Position

The Urology Technician provides urinary catheterizations, urinary drainage tube irrigations, ultrasonic bladder scanning, and reinforcement of home-going education related to self-catheterization or urinary drainage tube irrigations. The role is performed after acquiring the required knowledge through didactic and supervised practice. The technician responds to calls in inpatient and ambulatory settings at both the St. Marys campus and downtown/Methodist campus. The position involves pushing a mobile supply cart from call to call. This is a male team member position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or successful completion of GED.
• Previous health care education or experience.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable fluctuations in workload volume.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; certification may be included as part of orientation for candidates who do not already have it.
• Must be a male team member.
