About The Position

Mercy Medical Group (MMG), a large multi-specialty medical group in the Sacramento region, is seeking a Physician Assistant provider to join its busy Urology department. This role involves outpatient clinic responsibilities, including new patient consultations, returning office visits, patient education, and responding to patient inquiries for a wide range of urologic issues. Periodically, duties may include hospital rounds for post-operative care. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with no nights or on-call responsibilities. The position offers an opportunity to assist with rounding, post-operative care in the hospital and clinic, and seeing non-operative referrals.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current and unrestricted California NP or PA license
• National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care within the scope of practice
• Obtains medical history, performs physical examinations, formulates differential diagnoses, and establishes treatment plans in collaboration with the treating physician
• Writes orders and prescribes medications, including controlled substances
• Instructs and counsels patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans
• Completes all hospital and department documentation accurately and within designated timeframes
• Acts as a liaison between physicians, nursing departments, and ancillary staff on behalf of patients and their families
• Complies with all legal restrictions regarding lines of authority, supervision, and communication
