About The Position

Better Health is innovating the home medical supply industry by offering an end-to-end care solution that combines peer support, coaching, education, and home delivery of medical supplies. This approach helps members select the best medical supplies for their chronic conditions. Since its establishment in November 2019, Better Health has secured Medicare licenses in 48 states and 16 Medicaid licenses, serving members from major payers like Medicare, Medicaid, Cigna, Humana, Florida Blue, and Oscar. The company is supported by prominent investors including Mosaic General Partnership and General Catalyst. As Better Health expands its chronic condition care program, it is growing its Peer Support Coaching team. Peer support coaches are 1099-contractors who work flexible hours and leverage their lived experience to provide empathetic support, resources, and advocacy, significantly contributing to positive clinical health outcomes for members.

Requirements

• Have first hand experience with chronic urological conditions and want to give back to the community of people with conditions
• Are interested in flexible session-based 1099-contracting work
• Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort talking on the phone
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and work independently within established procedures
• Comfortable making outbound calls
• Comfortable with technology (we are a start-up, and use a variety of technology apps including Google Suite and our our software portal)

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of medical terminology, common products, and evidence-based condition-specific best practices preferred
• Secondary degree (Associates, Bachelors, etc) or at least 3 years professional experience, professional certification required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial peer support coaching calls with Better Health members as you support them through your shared experience
• Become an expert in Better Health’s product catalog for conditions to provide personalized product suggestions
• Construct personalized follow up emails and educational tools for members
