About The Position

Las Vegas Urology is seeking a detail-oriented Urodynamic Technician to join their growing team. This role supports several clinics across the city and involves performing specialized investigative techniques using advanced urodynamic equipment to aid physicians in diagnosing and treating urological disorders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely with a pleasant telephone voice.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, high energy environment.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to be proactive and initiate processes with little supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months - 1-year medical assisting experience.
  • Certified Medical Assistant degree or ABR-OE from the AAMA.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of back-office procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized investigative techniques using urodynamic measuring equipment.
  • Prepare patients for testing by explaining procedures, inserting catheters, and operating equipment using aseptic technique.
  • Set up machines to measure and record urinary flow rates, cystometrograms, sphincter electromyography, pressure flow studies, urethral pressure profile, and EMG of the pelvic floor.
  • Maintain records of all patients having urodynamic/voiding studies and prepare written reports.
  • Irrigate urinary bladder and instill solutions or medications as ordered by the Urologist.
  • Collect urinary specimens, swabs, and cultures from the genital area.
  • Apply dressings or other treatments as ordered by the Urologist.
  • Maintain the Urodynamic Laboratory, equipment, and supplies in good working condition.
  • Perform urethral catheter insertion/removal, S/P catheter insertion/removal, voiding trials, and bladder installations.
  • Teach patients self-catheterization.
  • Room patients, stock rooms, set up and assist with procedures.
  • Review charts to prepare for the doctor.
  • Follow all sterilization and clinical protocols.
  • Answer incoming calls from patients and assist with questions.
  • Listen to all voicemails by the end of each day.
  • Respond to emergent calls within 24 hours and non-emergent calls within 48 hours.
  • Respond to all tasks in a timely manner.
  • Perform general clerical duties including photocopying, faxing, emailing, reviewing and editing documents, filing, and record keeping.
  • Perform related work as required.
  • Maintain compliance books.
