About The Position

Responsible for the collection and testing of urine specimens at the Miami-Dade County Court House. This role involves meeting consumers at the court area, testing urine for illegal/legal substances, and providing quick response results to Dade County judges. The position also requires ensuring the confidentiality of test results, participating in staff training and meetings related to urine specimen testing and court presentations, and completing necessary paperwork within specified timeframes. Additionally, the Urine Coordinator may attend court hearings when subpoenaed, provide coverage as residential program support, maintain facility safety and security, communicate with the Program Coordinator regarding consumer issues, provide input in clinical team meetings, and ensure consumers adhere to established schedules.

Requirements

  • Must hold a minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with judges and court personnel.
  • Must have computer skills to document results in multiple databases.
  • Ability to provide an Affidavit of Good Moral Character.
  • Clearance in Pre-Employment Drug Testing and Criminal Records Checks, as required.
  • CPR Certification.
  • First Aid Certification.
  • Annual Tuberculosis test.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience providing services to persons with alcohol and/or drug problems is preferred.
  • Bilingual is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meet consumers at the Miami-Dade court area.
  • Test urine of referred consumers for illegal/legal substances.
  • Provide the Dade County judges with a quick response on the results of the urine specimen testing.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of the results of the urine specimens testing.
  • Participates in staff training and meetings as they relate to urine specimen testing and court presentations.
  • Complete necessary paperwork within the time specified by the department.
  • Attend court hearings when subpoenaed.
  • Provides coverage as residential program support as needed.
  • Maintains safety and security of facility assigned.
  • Communicates with Program Coordinator regarding consumers leaving treatment, injuries, or major infractions of rules, including acts of violence and drug use.
  • Provide input in clinical team meetings.
  • Ensure that all consumers are adhering to established schedules.
