About The Position

This role involves conducting urine toxicology collections and supporting contingency management programming within a substance use disorder treatment setting. The specialist will ensure adherence to all relevant policies and procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and provide administrative support to the program staff. Key responsibilities include specimen collection, chain of custody, monitoring patient compliance, assisting with contingency management, and performing various clerical duties.

Requirements

  • Current RADT certification or SUDRC certification in good standing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient computer skills including EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and data entry.
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, boundaries, and confidentiality in a clinical environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, medical office, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with urinalysis collection procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAPC and DHCS documentation and compliance standards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct observed and/or unobserved urine toxicology collections in accordance with SAPC, DHCS, and agency policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper chain of custody procedures and accurate specimen labeling and documentation.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory transport and maintain secure storage of collected samples.
  • Monitor and document patient compliance with toxicology testing requirements.
  • Maintain inventory and supplies related to UA collection and testing procedures.
  • Communicate toxicology results and collection concerns to clinical and medical staff as appropriate.
  • Ensure all UA procedures are completed in a professional, respectful, and trauma-informed manner.
  • Assist in coordinating and administering contingency management programming in compliance with SAPC and program guidelines.
  • Track patient participation, attendance, incentives, and outcomes related to contingency management services.
  • Maintain accurate logs, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
  • Coordinate with counselors and clinical staff regarding patient eligibility and participation.
  • Provide encouragement and support to patients participating in recovery incentive programs.
  • Perform data entry into electronic health records (EHR) and internal tracking systems.
  • Maintain organized patient files and ensure documentation is complete and compliant.
  • Answer phones, respond to general inquiries, and provide administrative support to program staff.
  • Assist with scanning, filing, faxing, and uploading documentation into patient charts.
  • Support audit preparation and compliance reviews as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
