This role involves assisting providers in initiating care within an Urgent Care setting. The nurse will be responsible for patient intake, assessment, point-of-care testing, administering provider-ordered treatments, patient discharges, and education. The position requires working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, accurately documenting patient medical history, medications, and allergies in the EMR, and assisting with various urgent care procedures such as EKGs, dressing changes, suture removal, ear lavages, splinting, injections, and IV insertion/infusions. The role also includes maintaining room and supply stock, ensuring equipment is in proper working order, returning patient phone calls, maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality, assessing personal learning needs, acting as a resource for staff and patients, participating in staff meetings, and communicating cooperatively and politely with colleagues, patients, and visitors. A strong emphasis is placed on providing service excellence to all individuals encountered.
