This position administers imaging procedures as ordered by a physician/provider, practicing radiation safety according to ALARA principles. The role functions in a single modality, providing compassionate patient care and addressing physiological and psychological needs. Responsibilities include assisting providers with patient preparation, medical history, and vital signs, and potentially assisting with treatments or medication administration within the scope of practice. The technologist will utilize JMH and Radiology Information systems, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation. They will also participate in charge capture and cost containment, maintain a clean and stocked work area, order supplies, and ensure equipment is operational. Additionally, the role involves performing laboratory tests such as urine dipsticks, drug screens, and blood draws, communicating findings, and educating patients. The position encourages seeking improvements in departmental operations and services, participating in training, and working collaboratively with team members. Problem-solving within the department and adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions, are also key aspects of this role.
