About The Position

Centra Medical Group is seeking a full-time family medicine physician for our Urgent Care Facility in Forest, Virginia. This is a great opportunity for physicians seeking the freedom of shiftwork and no call. The facility is open 8am – 8pm, Monday – Sunday. Providers are required to work 142 12-hour shifts per year. Patient volume is typically 2.5-3 patients per hour during a 12-hour shift. There are 2-3 providers scheduled per shift depending on volume, day of the week, and season. Responsibilities include efficient assessment of all patients present, treatment and evaluation of adult and pediatric patients with minor/appropriate medical conditions, simple suturing, incisions and drainage, initial simple fracture care, and X-ray interpretation with radiology backup doing real-time reads.

Requirements

• Completion of medical degree and residency training in a primary care specialty from an American Medical Association- (AMA) approved program or other schools with credentials approved by the Medical Staff and Board of Centra
• MD/DO with certification by an American Board of Medical Specialists (ABM) board in physician's primary specialty
