Requirements

M.D. or D.O. from an accredited School of Medicine
Board Certification in a specialty field (Emergency, Family or Internal Medicine preferred)
Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in South Carolina (or willingness to obtain)
Active DEA license with no restrictions
Ability to obtain ACLS & BLS certification within 90 days of employment
Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel

Nice To Haves

Experience with EMR systems
Solid knowledge of urgent care protocols and procedures
Familiarity with OSHA and HIPAA regulations
Commitment to quality, safety, and infection control standards

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for a wide range of urgent medical conditions (sore throat, respiratory illness, rashes and skin infections, sprains and strains, fracture care, cuts, burns and others)
Perform minor procedures and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, EKGs, labs, CT scans, ultrasound, MRI, echocardiogram, PFT, urodynamic tests, and more)
Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Communicates with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information.
Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate
Collaborate with advanced practice providers and clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care
Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
Follows established policies, procedures, objectives, and recommended referral practices.
Participates in facility in-services, required training, recruiting, required staff meetings, and other clinic operations procedures
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold clinical best practices
Supervision of advance practice providers when appropriate and abide by all associated rules and regulations
Orientation and training of new practitioners when necessary.
Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of support staff as required
